Three country houses made of adobe sit on an oasis of green that surveys the surrounding mountains from its valley home.

Traditional architectural techniques from the region were used to create three separate adobe “casitas” that feature walls hand-covered with an earth-like material. The gardens are home to streams, a waterfall, and a large variety of fruit trees, with stunning mountain views. Natural light is abundant throughout.

Interior design Pamela Remy

Taking a wabi-sabi approach, the designers turned to natural materials and locally created furnishings and artworks.

An abundance of natural materials creates an earthy color palette—think gray stones, white cottons, and browns and beiges from the wood and the soil—while wabi-sabi reigns throughout. Many furnishings were custom-designed by local artisans, as were the wall hangings and ceramics. An outdoor communal table and lounge furniture encourage co-working and a shared appreciation for the surroundings.

“To see that one has the power to make a significant change in society helped bring me in touch with myself.”

Food & Drink From the soil

Peruvian classics and international dishes are created using ingredients from nearby farms.

Fruits, vegetables, and herbs grown in the hotel’s own garden are also used in the dishes, adding a uniquely hyperlocal flavor to the dining experience. Guests can also take classes with the chef, learn the traditional art of “pachamanca” outdoor stone cooking, and take a tour of local fruit and vegetable markets in Urubamba or the Salt Mines in Maras.
